Countertops & Finishes

Quartz, solid surface and natural stone countertops, along with flooring, tile, painting and hardware, selected in our Bonita Springs showroom and installed under our own project management.

Common homeowner needs

  • A countertop that suits how hard the kitchen works
  • Surfaces that tolerate Florida humidity and sun
  • Tile and flooring that tie the rooms together
  • Hardware that holds its finish near the coast
  • Help choosing among many options within a budget

Overview

Finishes are what you touch and see every day. A countertop takes knives, hot pans and morning coffee. Floors carry sand from the beach. Hardware is handled hundreds of times a week. Choosing well means balancing beauty, durability and care.

SeaGlass offers countertops, flooring and tile, painting and hardware as part of kitchen, bath and whole home projects. Our designers help you select them in our Bonita Springs showroom, and our own tile setters and carpenters install as much as possible in house.

New countertops can be part of any of the 3 levels of project. In a cosmetic refresh, they sit on existing cabinetry. In a cabinetry replacement, they arrive with the new cabinets. In a full renovation, they are a piece of a larger plan. Our kitchen remodeling page explains how to tell which level fits.

Design possibilities

Countertops set much of a room’s tone. Quartz offers consistent color and pattern, including looks inspired by marble. Solid surface allows integrated sinks and smooth, continuous lines. Natural stone brings variation and depth that make each slab its own.

The right surface also depends on the room. A busy family kitchen, a guest bath used a few weeks a year and a bar area used for entertaining each ask for something different. We help you match the material to the way the room will really be used, rather than to a trend.

Lines shown in our showroom include Cambria, Silestone and Corian. Our selection is subject to reconfirmation, so ask us about the current range when you visit.

Edges, thickness and the choice of a backsplash all change the character of a countertop. A full height stone backsplash reads very differently from a tile one. On an island, a waterfall edge makes a bold statement, while a simple eased edge stays quiet.

Tile and flooring connect rooms. A consistent floor across the kitchen and living areas makes a home feel larger, while a patterned tile can give a bathroom or laundry room personality. Paint ties it together, on walls, trim and, in a refresh, on the cabinetry itself, as described on our cabinet refacing and cosmetic refreshes page.

Hardware is the jewelry of a kitchen or bath. We carry lines such as Atlas Homewares and Jeffrey Alexander, subject to reconfirmation, in a range of styles and finishes.

Materials and craftsmanship

Southwest Florida conditions shape these choices. Humidity and moisture affect flooring, grout and paint. Strong sun through large windows can fade some materials over time. Near the coast, salt air is hard on metal finishes, so hardware deserves careful selection.

Each countertop material has its own care needs. Some natural stones benefit from periodic sealing, while quartz and solid surface ask for different habits. We explain the trade offs honestly so you can choose what suits your household.

Installation is where these materials succeed or fail. Countertops need level, sound cabinetry beneath them. Tile needs a flat, properly prepared substrate and consistent grout lines. Paint needs careful preparation. Because our own trades do this work, the same team answers for the result.

Finishes are best chosen together rather than piece by piece. A countertop that looks perfect on its own can clash with a floor tile or a cabinet color. Seeing samples side by side, in daylight and in the evening, avoids most of those surprises.

How SeaGlass approaches finishes

We begin with a free consultation, where we look at the room and the existing cabinetry and talk about how you use the space.

Selections happen in our Bonita Springs showroom. You can see countertops, tile, flooring and hardware together, under the same light, and our designers help you narrow the options within your budget.

During the work, Terry Booth manages the project and our in house trades carry it out, with outside specialists only where particular expertise is required. If the project grows to include plumbing or electrical changes, permits are typically required and we handle them. Condominium and HOA rules vary, and we plan around them.

The finish is careful: seams checked, grout cleaned, hardware set straight and a walkthrough together. To start, visit the showroom or request a consultation.

Questions homeowners ask

Which is better, quartz or natural stone?

Neither is better in every case. Quartz is engineered for consistency, while natural stone offers variation that no 2 slabs share. Care needs differ, so we talk through how you cook and clean before you choose.

Can I replace countertops without replacing cabinets?

Often, yes, provided the cabinetry is level and sound. New countertops are a common part of a cosmetic refresh. If the cabinets are worn or damaged, we will tell you before the new surface goes on.

Which brands do you carry?

Lines shown in our showroom include Cambria, Silestone and Corian for surfaces, and Atlas Homewares and Jeffrey Alexander for hardware. Our selection is subject to reconfirmation, so ask us for the current range.

What flooring works well in Southwest Florida?

Tile is a long standing choice in our climate, and other materials can work well with the right product and installation. Humidity and moisture should guide the choice, and we discuss options for each room at the consultation.

Do you handle painting as part of a project?

Yes. Painting is among the services SeaGlass offers and is often coordinated with cabinetry, countertop and flooring work so the room comes together as a whole.
