Overview
A kitchen is the room most people use from morning to night. It has to work hard, store a great deal and still feel calm when guests arrive. Getting it right takes careful planning and a builder who sees the job through.
SeaGlass has designed and built kitchens in Bonita Springs since 2016. Terry Booth, a Certified General Contractor, personally leads every project. Our own carpenters, plumbers, electricians and tile setters do as much of the work as possible, so the people who plan your kitchen stay close to the people who build it.
Refresh, replacement or full renovation
Not every kitchen needs to be taken back to the studs. We think of kitchen work in 3 levels, and the right level depends on what is wrong with the room today.
A cosmetic refresh changes the surfaces. The layout and cabinet boxes stay in place, while paint or new doors, hardware, countertops, backsplash and lighting give the room a new character. It suits a kitchen that works well but looks tired.
A cabinetry replacement brings in new cabinetry and, usually, new countertops. The layout stays mostly the same, so plumbing and electrical change very little. It suits a kitchen whose boxes are worn, damaged by moisture or poorly organized, but whose footprint still makes sense.
A full scale renovation can change the layout itself. Walls may move, the sink or range may relocate, and plumbing and electrical are reworked. Permits are typically required for this kind of work, and we handle them as the contractor.
A few practical signs help. If you like where everything sits, start by considering a refresh or replacement. If you keep wishing the island were somewhere else, or the room were open to the living area, you are likely looking at a renovation. You can read more on our cabinet refacing and cosmetic refreshes page, and we will give you a straight answer at the consultation.
Design possibilities
Every kitchen starts with how you live. Some households cook every night and want a generous range wall with proper ventilation. Others entertain often and want an island that seats guests while keeping the cook in the conversation.
We look at the whole room: the work triangle, landing space beside the cooktop and refrigerator, where trash and recycling go, and how light falls through the windows across the day. A walk in pantry, a coffee station or a beverage center can earn its place when the plan allows it.
Style follows function. A kitchen might lean clean and transitional, warm with wood, crisp in white or darker and moodier. In our showroom you can compare door styles, finishes and countertops side by side. Our designers work within your budget and show you where a choice adds value and where a simpler option will serve just as well.
Materials and craftsmanship
Southwest Florida asks a lot of a kitchen. Humidity, moisture and, closer to the coast, salt air all affect how cabinetry, hardware and finishes age. Material choices matter more here than in a dry climate.
SeaGlass custom builds cabinetry and also offers cabinetry lines shown in the showroom. Our custom cabinetry page explains the difference. For surfaces, we help you weigh quartz, solid surface and natural stone, along with tile, flooring and hardware, on our countertops and finishes page.
Craftsmanship shows in the details: drawers that close evenly, panels that align across a run of cabinets, tile cuts that land cleanly at the edges. Because our own trades do most of the work, the same standard runs from the rough work to the last outlet cover.
How SeaGlass approaches a kitchen
It begins with a free consultation. We listen to what is working, what is not and how you want the room to feel. We also look honestly at which of the 3 levels of project fits your home and budget.
Next comes design and selections in our Bonita Springs showroom. You see full kitchen displays and work with our designers on cabinetry, countertops, flooring and accessories. Decisions are made with the materials in front of you.
During construction, Terry Booth manages the project and our in house trades carry out the work. Outside specialists come in only when a particular expertise is required. Ellen Williamson leads client relationships and customer service, so you always know who to call.
If you live in a condominium or HOA community, we plan around the approvals and rules your association sets, which vary from place to place. We also keep hurricane season in mind when scheduling deliveries and exterior work.
The finish is careful and unhurried: final adjustments to doors, drawers and fixtures, and a walkthrough together. Our aim, as it has always been, is a quality kitchen delivered on time and within budget. When you are ready, request a consultation.
