Overview
Cabinetry sets the character of a room and does most of its work. It decides where things live, how easily you reach them and how the space feels when you walk in. It is also where the name SeaGlass Design & Custom Cabinetry comes from.
SeaGlass custom builds cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, closets and living spaces. We also offer cabinetry lines shown in our Bonita Springs showroom, including Wood Harbor Cabinetry, for projects where a set range of sizes and styles is the better fit. The lines we carry are subject to reconfirmation, so ask us for the current selection.
New cabinetry is the middle of 3 levels of project. It goes further than a cosmetic refresh and usually stops short of a full renovation. The layout mostly stays, while the boxes, doors and drawers are replaced and new countertops typically follow. Our kitchen remodeling page explains how to tell which level suits your home.
Design possibilities
Custom work begins with measurement and conversation. We want to know what you cook with, where the mail lands, how tall the people in the house are and what you wish you could hide away.
From there, the possibilities widen. In a kitchen, that may mean deep drawers for pots, a tall pantry with pull out shelves, a paneled refrigerator or an island with seating on 1 side and storage on the other. In a bathroom, a custom vanity can be sized to the inch, with drawers planned around outlets and plumbing.
Beyond the kitchen and bath, we design and build custom pantries, entertainment centers and built ins for living rooms, offices and dens. Closets and laundry storage are covered on our closets and custom storage page.
We use 3D rendering in design, so you can see the cabinetry in the room before it is built. It helps you judge proportion, sight lines and finish, and it makes changes easy while they are still on screen.
Materials and craftsmanship
Southwest Florida is a demanding place for cabinetry. Humidity rises and falls with the seasons, homes may sit closed while owners are away, and salt air near the coast is hard on hardware. Construction and finish choices should account for all of it.
In the showroom, we walk through door styles, wood species, painted and stained finishes and interior fittings. Hardware matters too. We carry lines such as Atlas Homewares and Jeffrey Alexander, subject to reconfirmation, and can talk through finishes suited to coastal homes.
Craftsmanship shows over years of use. Doors should stay aligned, drawers should glide evenly and face frames should meet cleanly at every joint. Countertops, covered on our countertops and finishes page, sit best on cabinetry that is level and true.
Interiors deserve as much thought as exteriors. Drawer organizers, roll out trays, tray dividers and lighting inside tall cabinets make everyday tasks easier. Planned at the design stage, they fit properly and feel part of the cabinetry rather than added later.
How SeaGlass approaches cabinetry
We begin with a free consultation and a careful look at the room. We discuss whether custom cabinetry, a showroom line or a mix of both makes the most sense for your project and budget.
Design and selections take place in our Bonita Springs showroom, where you can open drawers, compare finishes and see full displays. Our designers prepare the plan and a 3D rendering, and we refine it with you until it is right.
During installation, Terry Booth manages the project and our own carpenters set the cabinetry. If plumbing or electrical needs adjusting, our in house plumbers and electricians handle it, and permits are pulled where the work requires them.
The finish is where we slow down: doors and drawers adjusted, panels aligned, hardware set straight and a walkthrough together. When you are ready, request a consultation.
